    Calculate the Sway Rate

The common "Conversion Rate" (Purchases / Visits) or "Real Conversion Rate" (Unique Purchases / Unique Visits) does not tell the whole story behind your e-commerce metrics.  That is why you need to calculate the Sway Rate.  Once you have this, you will see it correlates much closer to your sales volume than the overall conversion rate.

The Sway Rate Formula is below:

(Unique Cart View / Q-Pages) *(Number of Orders / Checkout Starts)

What is a Q-Page?  It is a page that shows the user is qualified to be counted as a prospective buyer on your site.  ..

  • Where do you advertise your golf related jobs?

    Written by Efrem / on 02/11/2010 / 0 Comments

I have just joined TheGolfBiz.com and wondered whether any of the members would use online advertising for any golf related jobs they might recruit for?

Or if the members are looking for a job in golf where do you currently go to look? Do you go online, do you use a recruitment agency or do you get your jobs word of mouth?

I have recently launched a website to promote jobs in golf globally and would like to develop my network so we list any job related to the game!

From PGA Pro jobs, Director of Golf to Course Design, Events, ..

  • Online PR. What does Toyota know that you don’t?

    Written by Ed / on 02/05/2010 / 0 Comments

Golf business is not everything! We are a microcosm of a larger business world with a set of their very own problems.  That being said, I recently received an invite via Digg for a Digg Dialog with the president of Toyota, Jim Lentz. For those who are knew to the concept of social bookmaring communities, Digg is probably the best platform for online publication and PR that exists online.

This is a bold move from Toyota but an even more monumental shift and spotlight on where public relations and marketing are heading.  Toyota ..

The PGA Merchandise show has come and gone and now the golf business world is in a mad rush to set up shop. Whether you're launching a new brand or looking to sustain an existing company, one thing's for sure; you MUST know your golfer.

Golf Pulp delivers internet marketing solutions for many golf companies and the first questions we ask our clients are:

    Who is your Golfer?
Where do they hang out online?
    What's his/her avg. handicap?
How many times a month do they golf?
How many times do they log in to their favorite social site?
    What does your ..

  • Golf Social Media - How Sociable Are You?

    Written by Ed / on 01/14/2010 / 2 Comments

Social Media is the latest buzz on the marketing front yet many business owners have no clue what it means and how it can impact their profitability. I recently connected with a golf media company who delivers top notch golf content for golfers and works with big name golf brands. Our conversation led to social media and I asked "How are you growing your consumer base and subscriptions through Social Media?" There was dead air....

That's not to say the business owner hadn't heard of Facebook or Twitter. However, he never heard the term social media and had no clue ..

Another year is in the books and congratulations are in order for those who have managed to stay in business. 2009 brought many changes to the way the golf industry and 2010 promises to change the change that most of us were just getting used to.

    Written by Brooks / on 12/17/2009 / 5 Comments

We've just launched our new website and I'm looking for constructive input as to how we can make this more informative, easier to navigate, etc. Any and all input would be greatly appreciated.

Additionally, I'm looking for manufacturers reps who specialize in the golf/sporting goods industry. I can't find any industry groups, do you have any suggestions of how to get started or perhaps any recommendations of good reps to work with. I'm also curious at to what a standard commission structure would look like.

I'm new to the golf industry so don't have much to offer in this area, but ..

  • Mizuno Video really works!

    Written by Michael / on 11/05/2009 / 0 Comments

I wanted to report the success we had with a recent video we produced for Mizuno Golf.  Back in August we shot a product preview of the 2010 Irons and Wedges from Mizuno.  The video was distributed originally on our national television series Inside GOLF Magazine.  At the same time we posted the video out through our GOLF Video Network - using our BrandVisionTM toolset - we distributed it to our golf video channels across the internet.  In addition, we featured the video on key sites and partner sites for Mizuno.

Within a month we had the top two video results ..
